Essay-help sites are a dime a dozen these days. It seems that new ones are popping up weekly, and of course, some are better than others. My name is Tom, and Iām a writing tutor and editor for Killer Papers, the most established and trusted essay-help site out there. I recently chatted with a longtime customer about all the academic help sites online, and they asked me about PrepMyPaper. I hadnāt actually heard of them, so I went online to look them up. This PrepMyPaper review is my way of helping out students like you who are looking for a reliable essay-help site that delivers high-quality work. If youāre wondering, āIs PrepMyPaper legit,ā youāve come to the right place!Ā
āTL/DR: PaperLap is NOT a trustworthy service. They lie on their homepage about their reviews, as theyāre a foreign-based company claiming their tutors are all native English speakers. They output a total junk product in the end, and are not to be trusted. Save yourself both money and stress and head on over to Killer Papers instead to work with 100% US college graduates like myself.
Straight off the bat, I must admit that PaperLap has a decent-looking website.
The design is slick, colorful and has several different menu items. On the surface, they clearly employed a good designer, and even the content (sparse as it is) has been proofread.Ā
You realize something is amiss only once you look deeper into this company.Ā
āHow can a company targeting young people have no social media presence?
They literally have an empty profile on Instagram.Ā
Yes, that's right: on Instagram, they have absolutely zero posts and zero followers.
Compare that to Killer Papers, which has reviews on Instagram going back more than 7 years.
āThousands of posts, very active engagement, and 130,000 followers prove that we are who we say we are.Ā
Another weird little thing about the PrepMyPaper is their tutorsā profile pictures.
If youāve checked out a few of these academic-help sites, you would know that they usually take one of two approaches: cartoon avatars of their team members or just slap on fake profile pictures to each of their ātutors.āĀ
Think about it: Do you know any college graduates who would post their real pictures on an academic-help site of this nature?
I certainly wouldnāt.
PrepMyPaper definitely uses either AI-generated images, like our handsome friend āDanielā in the screenshot below, or they source fake profile pictures from stock image sites.Ā
Hereās the thing: PrepMyPaper claims that some of their tutors are native English speakers. I chatted to someone on the site, who told me that most of their tutors are from English-speaking countries like the US, Australia, and Canada.Ā
However, the company is based in Vilnius, Lithuania.Ā
Lithuania, eh?
Is that little Eastern European country youāve never been to the secret mecca of academic help?Ā
āProbably not. Itās perhaps an easy place to set up a company and a cheap place to hire labor.
Research for this PaperLap review revealed they also have several tiers of tutors, and the price of a project increases exponentially depending on who you choose.
Depending on the selected tutor, I had bids ranging from $50 to $91. From my experience in the field, I can assure you that their lowest-tier tutors, even the mid-tier tutors, will not be native English speakers from the US, Canada, or the U.K.
For starters, per-page pricing starts at $7 for a high school essay with a deadline 2 weeks away. Of course, the price rises sharply when you raise the grade level, move the deadline closer, or require a more experienced writer.Ā
Remember that tutors get about 35% of the per-page rate after deducting overheads. Do you honestly believe any student living in a first-world country could afford to work for so little?
Killer Papers start our pricing at around $26/page, and we guarantee that you will work with a US/Canadian college graduate.Ā
Those are the only tutors you will find at Killer Papers: US or Canadian students like yourself, in many cases. Our team of US college graduate tutors has lived the student lifestyle; they know what your professors expect, and English is their first language. Do you believe the same applies to a company based in an Eastern European country?
By now, you know that PrepMyPaper has no social media presence, likely has foreign tutors whom they pay a pittance, and may or may not lie about where their tutors are from.
You have to ask yourself, what other false claims do they make?
Well, hereās one I uncovered with minimal research: Their reviews are FAKE.Ā
PaperLap claims on its landing page that they have very high review rates on reputable sites like Sitejabber, Review.io, and Trustpilot.
However, when I visited those sites, PaperLap had ZERO reviews.
Another huge red flag!Ā
Why would they lie about that?
The obvious answer is that they either donāt have any reviews at all, or they donāt have any good ones.Ā
I wasnāt terribly surprised. I found it very doubtful that ALL their tutors could have 4.8 or 4.9 ratings. Keep in mind, this is for the same tutors who have fake profile pics, no bios to read, and whom you could not speak to before paying for your project.Ā
At Killer Papers on the other hand, one of our US college-graduate team members will review your project request and answer any questions you may have before you pay.
You can even DM the owner of the company on Instagram pretty much 24/7, and he will personally get back to you.Ā
So, what does this all add up to? I cannot recommend using PrepMyPaper to help you with your academic work.Ā
āIs PaperLap legit?ā Heck no!
Far, far too many red flags make me seriously doubt the company's legitimacy.Ā
Yes, they spent money on a decent web designer. But that is more or less where the good stuff ends.Ā
They lie blatantly on their homepage about their reviews, and they probably lie about having native English-speaking tutors. The fact that they have absolutely no social media presence is also very alarming.Ā
The next time you have a project due and need help, head on over to Killerpapers.org and put in a project request. Chat with a few of our native English-speaking tutors if you like, and feel free to ask all the questions you want before committing. Or you can follow us on Instagram and DM the owner with any queries you may have.Ā
Trust me, you will never look back.
Alright, guys, thatās all from me today for this PrepMyPaper review! As I said, my name is Tom, and Iām here to help you out 24/7 with any essays, PowerPoints, or other work youāre assigned during your time at university.
I hope to see one of your projects cross my desk here soon.
